The Golden State has just discovered Golden Turmeric Milk. It’s really just
a super healthy chai latte that promotes relaxation.
Turmeric contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds which keep your body a lean, mean, fighting sleeping machine.
Turmeric Milk comes from Ayurvedic medicine and is nothing new to Eastern cultures in general. It’s been known to help anything from sore throats, colds, and indigestion- and is typically drank before bed like a hot cup of tea.
Most benefits of turmeric come from it’s compound curcumin, which has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-septic properties.
I like to add black pepper to anything with turmeric to enhance absorption and benefits. The piperine compound has been shown to increase absorption of curcumin.

Turmeric Latte
Ingrédients
Serves 2
2 cups almondmilk
1 tablespoon Coconut oil
1 teaspoon-tablespoon (to taste) Honey or Raw Agave
1 cinnamon stick -or- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground Turmeric
1 pinch black pepper
1 pinch ground ginger (but fresh is best)
1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. I like to add any ingredients in wet to dry order, so I started with the almondmilk and coconut oil.
2. Whisk together with a wire whisk or fork and bring to a simmer. Cover and let simmer for 10 minutes. Enjoy warm!
*If the taste is still a little too strong you can add a drop of vanilla extract. Also, instead of the almondmilk+coconut oil mix, you can use 2 cups of coconut milk.
As much as I love this chai latte nightcap… I’m sure to brush my teeth after.
Turmeric STAINS YELLOW.
